Teeth

It’s really important to look after your teeth.

We need teeth to help us to:

  • Eat
  • Speak
  • smile!

You will have had 20 baby teeth, which will usually start falling out when you are about six years old. When you are an adult you will have 32 teeth.

There are lots of things you can do to keep your teeth healthy!

Brush your teeth for at least two minutes, twice a day.

  • You should use a pea-sized squirt of fluoride toothpaste.
  • An egg timer is a good way to time two minutes.
  • Make sure you brush all your teeth really well.

Eat healthy snacks and don’t eat too many sweets.

Buy a new toothbrush every three to four months.

Visit the dentist often. Your dentist will tell you how often you need to have a check-up.
