Your school nurse is here to support your physical and mental health and to give you confidential advice and care. You can speak to them about any worries or concerns you might have.
Your school nurse can help you to develop the skills you need to manage challenges that you face in school, at home and in your personal life.
School nurses are qualified nurses with additional training. They work closely with schools and colleges to deliver a number of programmes to students, such as:
- Relationship and sex education
- Emotional and mental health and wellbeing
- Smoking and substance misuse
- Safeguarding
These programmes are delivered in classroom sessions and you can also visit your school nurse individually by booking an appointment or visiting a drop in session.
School nurses can help you to access other services, either by making a referral for you or providing you with information.
